Study Overview

Research Aims

Aim 1: Biomarker Validation

Validate FGF-19 as a recovery biomarker and HLA-DR4 as a predictor of non-response to explantation surgery.

Aim 2: Reconstruction Outcomes

Compare long-term outcomes of Autologous Fat Grafting (AFG) versus Implant-Based Augmentation (IBA) for post-explantation reconstruction.

Aim 3: BEMER PEMF Pilot Study

Assess the efficacy of BEMER Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy on autologous fat graft survival rates.

Study Design
  • • Observational cohort study with n=100 BII patients
  • • En bloc capsulectomy with patient choice: AFG vs. IBA
  • • Tracking: PROMIS-29, FGF-19, HLA-DR4 biomarkers
  • • 24/7 private chat and weekly Zoom support
  • • Free participation with remote testing options
